NAILART: Blue mountains

Valentine's day, mister Cupido's busy day. I think you can say there are basicly 2 camps. Those who love this day, en those who don't, or stay indifferent. I consider myself to this last category. Not that there is a thing to celebrate, since I'm still (happy!) single. But all this "on this day we have to show explicit that we're happy in love"- fuss is irritating me. All those soggy and sticky moments, while love is something you have to show everyday, and not only with flowers or a teddy on the 14th of february, right? 

So no cuddly dinners or something this day for me. Just celebrating. Double shot celebration time. At first, I achieved my driving licence tuesday. (3 times hurray!) I'm so relieved, one thing less to care! And secondly, I received my results. I passed 4 from the 5 exams, sadly enough the other one will be a resit.
Guess all this hard work sometimes get rewarded and this may well be a good thing.

Here a little nailart with some tape. I wasn't so happy with the result because I had to retouch a lot (caused by a bit loosening the polish), and it makes it a bit sloppy. But it's a cool way to make something 'new'. So better luck next time!

NAILART: zebra battle

Quick update. Tomorrow I have my first exam about personality psychology. YIKES. 
Normally I'd like to rest & relax a bit (afterwards) on the day of an exam. 
Let's stay realistic: these exams are exhausting, aren't they? 
So I like to reward myself (or comfort in case of a bad exam) with some shopping or eating sushi... 
Guess what; friday is my next exam already, and it's the most difficult one of this period. (or that's what they say)
It's psychiatry, a course you have to learn by heart in the most extreme form: 
bradykinesia, amnesia, kataplexia, apraxia, acathasia, hypotonia, afonia, ... IAAAAAAAAAAAA. 
WORTSALAT: Mix all kind of words without any connection. You see: it's already driving me crazy :) 
So thumbs up, will need it & see you next weekend, when the blog-lock is done.

I give you some nail art I've made a while ago. Zebra nails. 
You have to put on a base coat, and make with a nailart pen some lateral curved stripes. 
It's not perfectly done I think, but I love the total image when you give it a glimpse.

CURRENT LOVES: Xmas wishlist

HOHOHOHO: we are getting there, almost xmas time! In 5 days it's xmas eve; an evening supposed to share with the whole family cosy in front of the fireplace, with lights flashing in the christmas tree, with hopefully a lot of presents underneath it: cute wrapping paper, ready to be teared away on the melody of jingle bells,...
...NOPE: that isn't tradition in our family. Besides a delicious dish and a sleepy traditional christmas movie; mostly it's not that special event. We unwrap the presents @ new year's day. This tradition established during the reading of the New Year's letters of the childeren; reading-presents-picture; right?

Since my parents are divorced, sometimes I celebrate these holidays twice; but with the coming exams in january; I prefer to split time. 
I just returned from some little christmas shopping so my duty is done for now... And me? Almost always, I receive packets with some money; but it would be nice if I'd receive something from my wishlist! Toitoitoi!

CURRENT LOVES: Catrice SpectaculART

Every month, Catrice comes op with a new collection. For november-december it's called 'SpectaculART', which I think is quite good chosen because the holidays are almost lurking around the corner. Glitz & glamz, champagne, dressyclassy & kissykissy @ '12 o clock: that's where the fuss is all about? Offcourse, NYE: a night that supposed to be fabulous. Actually, every year I end up again with some friends on a random party and it isn't even that special... Ok, it's a different occasion and a bit of conviviality, but for that reason better? I dunno. Maybe my bitterness is caused by this other awesome event called: preparing for the examination period. It just hasn't got this 'conviviality'. 

Anywayz, apart from the fact that NYE isn't such a highlight; I love the dressing up (how hypocritical). 
Because I am a sequin-lovah, I like the new nail polish of Catrice: Gold leaf topcoat. It just gives this extra touch to your nails. The other colors please me 2. (pink addict as I am)
Continuing the list: the eyeshadow (01. So Precious) and lipstick (02. Revel The Red). Hop, 2 the store!

NAILART: GOLD BLUE V

It's time for a new nailart of the day. Since I became obsessed by nail art, I'm also checking out some other nail art blogs sometimes for inspiration. But in comparison to them; I feel like a f*cking newbie. Their nails are always perfectly done: no leftovers or colors outside the lines nor scratches from bumping to something: in short: an artful job. Well I'm hoping I'll walk the line too in the future. I definitely won't stop trying! So here a little DIY:

                                                                                                                                          
STEP 1: Choose a base color. (I chose a blue one from primark.)

STEP 2: Cut some angles from 90° from a piece of paper. (The degrees don't matter; but they look more the same then) Paste them on your nails with a bit scotch tape.

STEP 3: Polish over the angles with another color (I chose a violet one from primark). Important: make sure the angles are tight enough and allow to dry.

STEP 4: You can now use a cotton bud, a toothpick or nail art pen to improve the angles and add a 3th color.

How to ombré? VS crackle!

Yezzzz, except eating (I'm playing the dutch 'Komen eten' with some friendz), I've been very busy with some nail art lately. A couple of years ago I was NEVER wearing nail polish. But now?! Can't believe it: I'm a serious addict these days. When I go outside without, I'm feeling naked! As you knew from my previous post I mostly love the brand Catrice. 

Now I will show you my creations of the last week.

HOW TO OMBÉ?!

1. Apply a base coat in the color you want. 

2. Choose a color for the ombré-effect & take a little sponge.

3. Apply the other color on the sponge (not to thick; then you get bubbles).

4. Make a rolling motion on your nail with the sponge.

5. You can remove the leftovers & eventual you can retouch with the first color for

    a smoother transition.

6. If you want to; you can apply some glitters on the transition for a special effect.

I bought this one @ Primark; it's very easypeasy to apply.

1. Apply the base coat.

2. Apply the crackle and poof: the crackle look appears, apply the top coat to keep it longer.

MY COLLECTION: Catrice

Hi!

Like I said before; step by step you will know a bit more of myself... As some of my posts reveal; I'm a serious nail polish freak. Actually, most of all: Catrice. I'm very satisfied with this polishes; most of them are very smooth, don't need to many layers and offcourse: they're cheap. (€2,69 to be precise @ kruidvat; although they were €2,50 earlier; the crisis is for everyone, I guess?) Catrice had also a lot of funky colors and the best part is to discover their name. (creative people who invent them imo!)

DIY: Nail polish holder

Hi guys!

During my creative sunday I've made an holder for my nail polishes; since they stood always randomly in my closet etc... And of course, it looks classy @ my room in Leuven. (I'm accustomed already!), Today a short post because I'm going dining with a friend in a little while and I have to get ready in time. (stressssssssss). 

So here I will tell you how I've made it:

1) WHAT DO YOU NEED?

a pair of scissors, a knife, eventual a pencil and lath (but I admit; I did it   without...), needle sticks or small needles, the lid of a shoe box, a piece of isomo/polystyrene 

(I picked one of an old computer with already angular shapes, but you can certainly cut it out yourself!)

2) BUILDING?

I've cut some pieces, and built a kind of stage (my polish catwalk haha!)

3) ATTACHING?

WARNING: do not use glue!!@ the first picture you see what happens if you glue it ;) So just use some needles. When it's all tight, you can decorate it with a cloth or rag, that you can choose yourself, and fix it again with needles.

4) TADAAAAAAAAAAAAA

So now my polishes are neatly stowed and it helps me choose a color.

NAILART: sunny péridot

Sunnyyyyyyyyyyy outside, finally! So now it's time for péridot, one of my favourites.. It was a present for my last bday from 2 friends, and i'm really happy with it. It has different colours inside/outside but when the sun shines brightly, you can see them all! Orange, red, yellow, gold, green, blue, violet, hmmmm. :)

 Going back to my sunchair now, for a funky colour xo
